How To Sterilize Fish Aquariums

After cleaning a fish tank, or beginning the use of a second-hand one, it is best to sterilize the tank before refilling it. The best way to go about this, is to fill the tank with warm water and add ¾ cup of household chlorine bleach to each gallon. Immerse equipment in the aquarium for 5 minutes. Then pour or siphon out this solution and rinse aquarium and equipment well with plain water. Let it air for about 30 minutes before refilling with fresh water.
